Yummy!
Let's switch gears a bit from cleaning. Here is a fave lotion of mine: Jaqua Buttercream Frosting. Open, sniff & mmmmmmmm! You won't want to stop! It truly smells just like it's name. It's a nice light lotion too--nothing heavy. It typically sells for about $18, but i snagged mine at Bath and Body Works during one of their big sales (75% off)---for only 4 bucks!!!

Good-smelling Cleaners
I have a thing for good-smelling cleaners. I've found this and am in love! *swoon*
It's Mr. Clean with Febreze in Meadows & Rain. They also have a purple version, but i haven't tried that one. This product is great! I think all-purpose cleaners are the best way to go. I use this on kitchen countertops, in the bathroom..even on the floors! And while i've touched on that subject, let me tell you how i "wash" my floors. This discussion came up recently on a message board where i post. I've never been much of a "mop and bucket" type of girl. I just think it's gross when you start getting into it--you're basically taking the dirty water and using that to "clean" your floor--how is it getting clean w/dirty water??!! So for as long as i can remember, i've done this: I clear out the kitchen sink, wet my mop, spray an all-purpose cleaner on an area of the floor, mop, then rinse/squeeze the mop in the sink and repeat until the whole floor is done! Sooooo much easier, and it seems much more clean, imo.
I prefer a roller mop, and am currently using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser one. It's pretty good. Similar to the ME, it tends to kind of fall apart after awhile. But it holds up pretty well overall, and i like the ME properties, and think they assist in getting the floor in shape.
The next good-smelling product i want to share is by the Method brand. Really, a lot of their products are worthy of being in this post. If you haven't looked into these, check them out. They are at most major retailers now, and of course at my fave: Target. They are great if you want to go the more natural route. Their products are ammonia-free, are not tested on animals, and are naturally derived and biodegradable. One that i really love is the Tub & Tile Cleaner in Eucalyptus Mint. The scent is just heavenly! I mainly use this on my bathroom sink, and i'll often spray it and just breathe in the scent. It's very refreshing, and at least (somewhat) takes away the fact that you are cleaning up a grimy mess!
Now get cleanin'!! ;)
Old favorite
This little guy has been a "friend" of mine for many years. My mom used it when i still lived at home, and i've relied on it ever since i started doing my own laundry.
<--- The Spray & Wash Stain Stick. (*cue Angelic music*)
This thing is truly a miracle in a little package. I have to say that in the nearly 20 yrs that i've used it, i have yet to find a stain that it cannot get out. And i have 2 boys, mind you ;) I recently turned my MIL onto the product. She had a huge grease stain from pizza on a fave pair of jeans and guess what? Stain Stick won another person over when she removed the jeans from her washer, and the grease was completely gone!
All you have to do is rub this onto a stain, throw it in the wash, and voila--it's like a magnet that erases the stain, so you never know it existed. Their claim to fame once was that you could pre-treat and leave it on for up to 7 days before washing. I typically do not do this, but i have let it sit for a couple days in the past and it still removed the stain, without discoloring the clothing either.
The product has been reformulated through the years, and now boasts "Resolve Power". I haven't noticed much of a difference; it still works great and is pretty affordable--usually around $2.50, and a little goes a long way. They also have a spray product that is nice for collars, but i've found the stick to be the most effective overall.
Recently, my beloved Target has stopped carrying this product, and that makes me sad. They have the Shout Gel, but it just pales in comparison to the Stain Stick. I hope they bring it back.
So if you haven't tried this product, and are looking for something to get stains out of clothing, give it a try!
Friday
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel
It's quite good! Seen a commercial and gave it a try. It comes w/a tube full of gel and you just press it once inside the toilet. Supposed to last a week--it was probably just shy of that--but we had it in our main bathroom that is used quite often. I really felt like i could smell the freshness when it was in there and it is so much better than the drop-in kinds. I got mine on sale @ Target, 2/$7, and there are usually coupons you can find too.
